what is the walking distance between world trade center and central park?

i’m going to new york today and i was wondering if i should walk or take subways. My plan is to take a subway down to the world trade centers and then walk back to central park but I don’t know how long of a walk it is if you’re not stopping. I just want an estimate of what i’ll be doing time wise.

That would be quite a hike. If you look at a map, the south end of Central Park starts at 59th and the WTC is close to the southern tip of Manhattan in the Financial District. So figure it’s 60 blocks + a lot more. 20 blocks is roughly a mile so the walk would be 3 miles +.

Unless you just want to take the hike, I’d recommend taking the subway and using the time to enjoy the park or whatever else you’d enjoy. Best.
