Child Booster
What age did you put your child in a booster seat?

At what age did you put your child in a booster seat? Also how much did your child weigh? I’m just curious, my daughter has a Britax Marathon carseat and was thinking of using a booster seat a few months before she turned 3, and letting my baby when she is 7 months use the convertible carseat(still rear facing). Thanks

According to Transport Canada, a child should be at least 40 lbs and at least 4 and a half years old before they use a booster seat. Also, many certified car seat techs say that a child should ideally be in a car seat that has a full harness up to 65 lbs (or until they reach the height limit) as there are now seats here in Canada that do this (like your Marathon). The website car-seat.org has a lot of helpful info. My advice would be to hold off on the booster seat (even though it’s hard financially to keep buying new seats). It is safer to buy a cheap rear facing seat for the little one and keep the 3 yr old harnessed to 65 lbs.
