All knitting enthusiasts who have used 25mm needles?

I have seen some of the patterns on Lion Brand about using 25mm needles to make quick blankets and afghans.

Yes, that is called “broomstick knitting” and you can actually use broomsticks for that. I once saw someone using shovel handles, but that is another story.

Yes, you need to use yarn that is about half the size of the needles you are using. In this case, I would use several strands together, to make a thick yarn. You can often use colours that are close together, or even some contrasts, to add some dimension to the piece. Just hold the yarns together as if they were one yarn.

Is it easy?? Well, I am used to working with smaller needles (about 2 mm), so those would feel monstrous! It would be somewhat awkward, but you will do just fine. It would go fast, but a blanket is fairly large.
